PRACTICE STATEMENT

This studio implemented an extensive range of low budget jobs for almost two decades and battled to make statement with minimal means. Since then, ARKITEK M_E_L is determined not to lose sight of the need to do inventive design solutions rather than looking to decadent clients with big budgets. Here we expand efforts on craftsmanship rather than opulence. The team in this practice gives its best effort towards works that are good and of lasting architectural merit. It is also committed to produce works which deliver value for money and of affordable joy whilst ensuring that facilities meet the client’s design briefs as well as future challenges.

Just as works are dynamic and constantly evolving in the construction process, so do designs and materials acquire new meanings and possibilities in various contexts and occasions. Equipped with this mind-set, the practice continues to learn and grow as “work’s always in progress” here in the studio. Our upcoming education, retail and institutional projects will demonstrate an enriched palette of design responses, delightful and innovative architectural solutions for owners and users alike.
